Most cell phone numbers are not in the phone books that are regularly delivered to our homes, but what if you want to trace a cell phone number?
Use the Web to Trace Cell Phone Numbers
Navigate to Google and type the cell phone number you're trying to trace in the Google search bar. Try it in the basic phone number form: 555-555-1212, as well as with quotes around it: "555-555-1212". If the person you are trying to track down has entered their cell phone number somewhere on the Web, you'll most likely be able to turn it up. Here are a few more search engines and specialized sites that you can use to trace cell phone numbers:
- Google Phone Number Search - Use Google to Find Phone Numbers
- Free Reverse Phone Number Lookup
- Search for Phone Numbers with Google Phonebook
- Phone Numbers - Ten Ways You Can Find Phone Numbers on the Web
- How to Find Phone Numbers on the Web
Trace a Cell Phone Number's Location
Any of these sites will be able to give you the geographical location from which the call was placed - basic, initial information. You'll have the option of going on to get more information for a fee; I don't advise that you pay money to find this information, since they're not going to give you anything you can't find yourself.
Last, but not least, you can use social networking sites as a way to trace cell phone numbers. For instance, try entering the cell phone number or the person you're looking for into Facebook; if they've added their cell phone number into their public profile, you'll be able to find it.
