For more background information on Eurekster Swickis, read my article titled Eurekster Swicki before you get going on this tutorial.

You don't have to sign up to be a Swicki user immediately; you can just get going and start creating your Swicki to see if this is something that will work for you (you will eventually have to create a user name and password, but it takes 10 seconds). In order to customize your Swicki, you'll need to navigate to the Customize Your Swicki page. You'll then need to:

  • Name your Swicki
  • Choose a layout (you can experiment a bit with this; you're also given some sample pages to look at)
Keep going to the next step in Make Your Own Search Engine to learn about terms and keywords selection, design, and font.
  1. Customize Your Swicki
  2. Choose Relevant Keywords, Design, and Font for Your Eurekster Swicki
  3. Train Your Swicki-Choose Relevant URLs and Keywords
  4. Customize Your Swicki-Site Description and Relevant Categories
  5. Sign Up to Continue Creating Your Swicki
