Digg

Top Ten Sites of 2007

With its constantly shifting content, active user community, and wide variety of submissions, Digg deserves a place on the Top Ten Best Sites of 2007.
I've been using Digg for a while now, and the more I visit Digg the more I appreciate it. Basically, it's a social bookmarking site with a bit more usability and general mass appeal than other social bookmarking sites out there; you can browse the front page Digg stories, search for stories you'd like to read, or submit a new story.

How Digg Works: The user is in charge of what stories get the most buzz, or most visitors. Instead of an editor being in charge of what goes on the front page, you (and others who Digg the story with you) are in charge. It's a great way to see what is really popular in the worlds of technology and general geekery (along with lots of other topics), rather than having someone else tell you what you should be excited about.

More Digg Information:

  • Digg: Digg is a user-driven website; all the content on Digg is submitted and moderated by Digg users.Find out how to use it.
  • Digg Tools: Digg is a great way to find breaking stories or vote on links that you believe should get a wider audience. While Digg does have a couple of fun tools to play with, the best ones exist elsewhere on the Web. Here are a few of my favorite Digg buttons, Digg toolbars, Digg bookmarklets, etc.
