If you're an aspiring movie-maker, you'll want to check out Xtranormal, a fantastically addictive site that lets you create free movies with a wide variety of animated characters and special effects (and when I say "addictive", I am not kidding!).
Here's how Xtranormal works. First, you'll need to register and get a free account. The default animated characters are free, as are the sound effects and animations. You can buy extra stuff, like more actors and effects, if you want to, but Xtranormal offers a pretty good variety of freebies so you don't have to if you don't want to. Sharing your movies is free as well (unless you use the premium upgrades).
