Do you remember these Web fads?
Friday October 10, 2008
From CNet.com, a list of Internet fads that have come and gone (most mercifully). Here are a few of my personal favorites.

Be de be ba be ba bow bow, Be ba be de dum! WARNING: You will not be able to get this song out of your head.

I remember seeing this for the first time on Ally McBeal - remember, she was dancing around in her PJ's having her usual "my life sucks" pity parties and in comes a psychotic episode...er, I mean, a dancing baby. That only Ally can see. That somehow she's not freaked out and wondering "why in the world am I seeing a dancing baby?" No, instead, she starts to believe in herself, and realizes that while her and Billy have some problems, if they can just get through the rain they'll be okay. Sing along with me: "Meet me halfway..Across the sky" (go Kenny Loggins! Yeah!).

I found this video a longgg time ago and immediately forwarded it to my husband, the consumnate Star Wars geek, who saw himself in this poignant re-enactment of teenage awkwardness, sci-fi, and angst. Okay, scratch that. It's just funny. Stoopid funny.

If you ever tire of political correctness and want to go way, WAY over to the other side, then JibJab is the site for you. This site has been around since 1999 but really got famous with my favorite, "This Land is Your Land" (although I really like the Bush vs. Gore rap too.)
