Looking for something to read? Try BookMooch, a free book exchange

Monday April 14, 2008
I love to read; in fact, I usually have at least three books going on at any one time (right now I'm reading a murder mystery, a selection of short stories, and a fictional account of an Irish village). So, when I heard of BookMooch, a free online book exchange, I was definitely intrigued. Here's how it works:
  • You come up with a book (or books) that you want to give away.
  • You receive requests from other people who are interested in your books.
  • You each mail your books to each other; each time you do this, you get "points" at BookMooch.
  • You can use these points to ask for books from other people; you can also donate your points to give books to charities.
Is this a great idea or what? BookMooch is completely free to use; it takes just a few seconds to sign up and you can start giving and receiving books within a week.

Very cool concept! We like it! You should maybe include http://www.BookCrossing.com onto your list. One day we were in an ATM and saw a book just laying there with a little note saying that it was not in fact lost but left for someone to read. Basically people can leave the books places and see where it ends up by tracking it around the country (or world). Great sites as usual!
