Subject Directory and Search Engine - Are They The Same Thing?

Want to check out a new Web tool? Head on over to Human Search Engine.com, put together by none other than Ajeet Khurana, our About.com Guide To Business Majors. However, technically, this site is not really a search engine...it's a subject directory. Why is it called a search engine? Because people are more familiar with that term and it's easier to understand what is being talked about when the term "search engine" comes up in casual conversation.

So, in order to put this common misinformation to rest once and for all, check out my definition of a search engine and exactly what a subject directory is. You might be surprised at some of the subtle differences.
