Choosing Keywords

By Wendy Boswell, About.com

For best search engine results, choose your keywords wisely. Use these guidelines:
  • Be obvious. If you have a website about beaded jewelry, don't use "dichroic glass".
  • Use likely words.Use words on your site that people are looking for. If your bead site has "handcrafted leather charms", use those words instead of "cool necklaces".
  • Be specific."Pewter pendants" gets more results than "pretty bracelet".
