What is Zabasearch?

Simply put, Zabasearch is a free people search engine that scours freely accessible public information and records. It's a free service, but you'll have to pay if you want more detailed information, such as background checks.

How does Zabasearch get all this information?

From the site:

"ZabaSearch does not gather or generate information. ZabaSearch quickly accesses public information and displays what is available in the public domain. Many people assume ZabaSearch controls the information found in ZabaSearch results pages. However, ZabaSearch simply serves as a search engine in locating available public records and does not create the records found.

Information typically makes it to the public domain via a wide variety of sources, including but not limited to: phone listings, court records, real property records, subscriptions etc. Sources vary state by state and region by region. Unlike ZabaSearch, there are many companies who do gather, generate, compile, house and sell public information, most of which are publicly traded. This practice is, and always has been, legal in the United States and is the basis for the 2 billion dollar U.S. information industry."

How does Zabasearch work?

Zabasearch is very simple. Here's what I did:

• Go to the home page. Type in your name or someone else's name. This service is limited to the United States at this time. You can narrow down your search more quickly if you know the first and last name and state of the person you're looking for.
• Your search results will pop up next, with the person's name, address,birth date, and phone number if found. You have the option to do a background check (this takes $$$) or do a specialized Zabasearch on that particular name, which actually doesen't do anything but scoop up all the names that relate to your query.
• Click on any name that comes up in your original search results.You'll be directed to a screen where you can search for images of that person from Yahoo Search, Yahoo Image Search, Highbeam Research, Dogpile, Lycos, A9, AltaVista, and AltaVista Image Search.
• Click on any address that comes up in your search results. You'll be taken to a page that gives you the zip code, a Mapquest overlay map of the area, current weather and a five day forecast from the Weather Channel.

How To Remove Your Information from Zabasearch

You might be shocked to see how much information is freely accessible out there on the Web for all to see, but you can ask Zabasearch to remove your information; I've written more about it in this article titled How to Remove Your Personal Information From Zabasearch. However, be prepared that something about you will always be accessible on the Internet for those who really care to look.

Is Zabasearch Legal?
