Starting Over With Internet Explorer Browser Search Settings

Sometimes after performing all the steps we've gone through in this tutorial, Internet Explorer refuses to accept the changes that you've made. One workaround is to reset your Internet Explorer settings. Here's how you do it.

  • Click on Tools, Internet Options, and then Programs.
  • Click on the button labeled Reset Web Settings. A popup window will appear that will ask you, "Do you want to reset your Web settings to their original Internet Explorer defaults?", with a box that you can check or uncheck to also reset your home page. Click yes.
  • Go back and check off OK. All your IE settings are restored to their original settings, and it should work now for you to go in and customize them to your unique personalization.
