Search the Web with Nintendo Wii

If you've been lucky enough to score a Nintendo Wii game console, then you've probably already discovered that you can actually search the Web right from your couch with the Nintendo Wii.

Between championship games of baseball with my kids on the Nintendo Wii, I've had the chance to scope out a few Wii-friendly browsers and sites made specifically to search the Web from the Wii console, and here's what I've turned up so far (more will be added as they come out):

Nintendo Wii Web Browsers and Wii-Friendly Sites

  • WiiToob: Watch YouTube videos in high-quality resolution with your Nintendo Wii. Warning: there's not an adult filter in place (yet) so be careful with younger viewers.
  • WiiAim: At the time of this writing, this wasn't quite ready for prime time, but still looks interesting: "When it is complete, WiiAim will allow you to use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) to instant message people on your Wii using the new browser."
  • Viewii: View YouTube videos and browse Flickr galleries. A very well done site.
  • Yahoo Wii[: Get the latest Nintendo Wii games and info right here at the Yahoo Wii portal.
  • Shamoozal Wii: All the Sodes from Shamoozal are here.
  • AllSP: Here are quite a few South Park videos available to watch from the Nintendo Wii.
  • Nintendo Wii Browser: Here it is - the official Opera browser made specifically for the Nintendo Wii.
  • Internet Channel: Here's the official Nintendo Wii browser from the Nintendo folks titled the Internet Channel; not much information was available at the time of this writing, but I'll update when it comes out.
  • StumbleVideo for Wii: A dedicated channel for Wii web surfing from the good folks at StumbleVideo.
More will be added periodically.
