Use MeeVee to Find Local TV ListingsFind Local TV Listings on the Web with MeeVeeThe other night, I needed to find out when a show was coming on, and spent a fruitless 15 minutes at my local TV station affilate's Web site. However, I hit paydirt with MeeVee, a great site that help you keep track of local TV listings, find new shows, and a whole lot more.
MeeVee is easy to use. As soon as you get to the site, you'll be prompted to enter in your zip code, and then you'll need to click on your local cable provider. Next, you'll come to the general local TV listings page for your area. This is useful all by itself - but there's a whole lot more that you can do with MeeVee. Personalized local listings:You can create a keyword-driven local listings guide, tailored to YOUR interests. For example, if you entered in the word "crafts", you'll see a section of craft shows available in your area. Website widget: You can put your local TV listings guide on your website, blog, MySpace profile, etc. to share with anyone who visits you. Watchlist: MeeVee allows you to create a "watchlist" of your favorite shows. You can subscribe to this list via RSS, have it emailed to you, or you can print it out for easy access off the Web. Preview shows: When you're viewing your local TV listings guide, you can click on any show's title and get a brief preview of what will be on, reviews, images, and more. Selected shows will also offer a brief video preview. All in all, I was pretty impressed with MeeVee, mostly because it took me five seconds (as compared with the already mentioned 15 minutes at my local TV affilate web site!) to find what I needed. |
