There are plenty of places on the Web where you can find free font downloads. Here are a few good sites that I've rounded up for you:

• FontLover: Amazing site that rounds up free font sites; updated frequently.
• daFont: One of the absolute coolest free font download sites on the Web.
• 9800 Free Fonts: excellent selection of free fonts here for download.
• TypeTester: Not a free font download site, but a great site nonetheless: you can compare what various fonts look like side by side.
• TypeNow: a huge collection of movie-related fonts.
• WhatTheFont: "Ever wanted to find a font just like the one used by certain publications, corporations, or ad campaigns? Well now you can, using our WhatTheFont font recognition system."
• 25 Best License Free Official Fonts: some seriously beautiful fonts here for download.
• The Logos of Web 2.0: Excellent place to find all the fonts and styles of Web 2.0 sites.
• Abstract Fonts: over 10,000 fonts here available for free download; very eclectic collection.
