How To Find a Doctor Using The Web

You have many options available to you these days when you go to find a doctor, and I've found a few great Web sites that can help you find a good doctor in your area.
  • AMA Doctor Finder: "DoctorFinder provides you with basic professional information on virtually every licensed physician in the United States. This includes more than 690,000 doctors."
  • Blue Card Doctor and Hospital Finder: If you are a member of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, you can use this doctor finder to find a provider in your area.
  • Hospital Compare: From the United States Department of Health and Human Services; "This tool provides you with information on how well the hospitals in your area care for all their adult patients with certain medical conditions. This information will help you compare the quality of care hospitals provide."
  • WebMD Physician Directory: Not only can you find a physician here, but you can request an appointment online.
