Look Up An Embassy Online
US Embassy, British Embassy, Canadian Embassy, and MoreEvery sovereign country has an embassy, which is basically its point of contact with the rest of the world. Most of these embassies have Web sites, and these Web sites have an amazing amount of really useful information. Here's a few embassy sites, and a couple of mega-embassy sites from which you can jump off to any country's embassy that you're looking for.
- US Embassy:the "US Dept of State - Websites of U.S. Embassies, Consulates, and Diplomatic Missions." Gigantic list of every US embassy presence in every country.
- British Embassy: The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has made a very long list of "the contact details of the UK's embassies, high commissions and consulates (also know as 'diplomatic missions' or 'posts') overseas."
- Canadian Embassy: Find the Canadian embassy in any country with this great list.
- Chinese Embassy: this is the official site for all Chinese embassies in the world at the time of this writing.
- Australian Embassy:Australian Embassies, consulates and missions websites around the world.
- The Electronic Embassy: "a resource of and for the Washington, DC foreign embassy community." Provides information on each of the embassies in Washington D.C., with links to Web-based resources where available.
- Embassy World: Index of all embassies worldwide, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
