I have a few favorite sites that I use on a daily basis to see what the most popular websites are in a variety of categories. Here they are:
- Popurls: one of the best sites out there in my opinion for tracking the most popular websites, since it's a most popular websites aggregator from a variety of sources, such as Digg, de.licio.us, and more.
- Digg: Mostly focused on technology, Digg is a great place to find breaking news or just plain weird stuff.
- Trendalicious: Trendalicious is a real-time view of del.icio.us, what's getting newly bookmarked. Kind of a "fly on the wall" service.
- del.icio.us: I don't know what I did before del.icio.us. This is a great place to find the most popular websites on the Web before they become popular.
- populicio.us: Populicio.us is just another way to view del.icio.us; separated into time frames of 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week, 1 month, and all time most popular websites.
