Planning a party? There's a few sites on the Web that make it easy for you to plan a party, including sending out free online invitations.

• Evite: "With more than seven million registered users, Evite.com is the top online destination for invitations. A free service, Evite.com estimates it saves party planners millions of dollars in paper invitations and postage each month." Just a simple browse through Evite's services was enough for me to get hooked; I really like the design and free invitation wizards that allow you to super-personalize your invitations.
• DarkGuest: A no-frills (thus no fancy designs) free online invitation service. Bare minimum here, but that's a good thing for those of us who prefer our invites without dancing bunny rabbits.
• Upcoming.org: Not so much a free online invitation site, but a community-driven site. "Upcoming.org is a social event calendar, completely driven by people like you. Manage your events, share events with friends and family, and syndicate your calendar to your own site."
• Sendomatic: "baby announcements, birthday parties, company holiday parties, bridal showers, wedding invitations, sales parties, reunions and much more." There's a lot to offer on this site and they have pretty sophisticated designs as well.
