Whether you're looking for PC drivers, freeware, shareware, patches, PC game downloads, or the latest updates to various software packages, you're sure to find it at one of these free PC download Web sites. Unless otherwise noted, all the downloads offered at these sites are free; as always, I suggest that you use common sense when downloading software.

• MajorGeeks.com.. Warning: Use of this site may cause you to excessively download cool programs and feel "geeky".
• PCWorld.com. Includes downloads, news, reviews, and how-to's.
• CNET.com.Extensive site with not only downloads, but latest technology news and reviews.
• Windows Updates. The Official Microsoft site for Windows updates.
• DriverGuide.com. Great source for drivers of all kinds.
• Free Drivers. Lots of different drivers, not only for PC's, but for printers, cameras, keyboards, and more.
• Shareware.com. Hundreds of shareware files, ranging from audio and video to home entertainment to Mac files.
• Tucows.com. One of the most popular shareware and freeware sites on the Net. Includes downloads for Windows, Mac, Linux, and more.
• ZDNet.com. Get business, mobile, security and more downloads here.
• Winfiles.com. Good source for all kinds of Windows updates, files, utilities, and more.

Don't just start downloading willy-nilly; all of these sites, while reputable and well-known, will not be able to prevent unscrupulous software from finding its way into your computer if you choose to download it. Make sure you have security and virus protection before downloading anything, and double-check the file download instructions to make sure that the file you are downloading will be compatible with your system.
