Where to Find Free Images

Looking for free images? Here are thirty sites where you can find completely free images, available for use on your blog or web site. All of these sites offer royalty free images for your use (be sure to check each site for specific guidelines that they request you follow in order to use their images).

11. Free Stock Images

Hundreds of thousands of free images here available for use; there are some licensing restrictions on some of the individual photos, so be sure to read the fine print.

12. Stockvault

Over 8000 royalty free, high resolution images to use for your personal use.

13. Yotophoto

Thousands of gorgeous free images available here for free usage under various forms of copyright licensing.

14. Visipix

Large selection of free images here from a variety of free fine art and photo museums; available for both personal and commercial use.

15. Free Digital Photos

Thousands of high-quality images available for personal, non-commercial use; categories range from Animals to Transport.

16. FreeFoto

Thousands of images available for personal, non-commercial use; this site requires a link back with some attribution, but the photos here (especially the nature images) are well worth jumping through a few hoops.

17. Pixrat

Pixrat is a little different than most free image sites; it's a social bookmarking site for images only. You can use these images for personal use, but each image has it's own unique license requirements. Well worth looking at just for the quality and quantity of images.

18. Stock.xchng

Stock.xchng is one of the best places on the web to find free, high quality images for your site or blog. This is the one that I use the most. Check individual images for specific use requirements, as some photographs require a linkback, public attribution, or both.

19. Picurls

Find out what the most buzzworthy photos and images are with Picurls, a site that collects images from a variety of popular sites. Each individual image here has specific usage requirements, but if you're looking for images that everyone is talking about, this is the first place I would go.

20. Uncle Sam's Photos

A well-organized directory of the U.S. government's collection of free stock photos available for personal or commercial use.
