Google
Google is at the top of my list for the Best Web Sites of 2006.

Even though the main business of Google is being a search engine - and I think we can all agree that Google does this job extremely well - Google has become one of the top destinations on the Web for much more than just its search capabilities.

There's so much you can do with Google in addition to Google Search. Google offers Gmail, one of the best Webmail applications on the market today, a user-friendly phone directory, Google Maps, Google Talk, Google News; you can even use Google to find free MP3's on the Web. Is there anything that Google can't do? Visit Google yourself today.

Oh, and by the way - the above image is not what the Google home page usually looks like! Google loves to tweak its' logo in honor of special occasions, and this image reflects the artwork of Edward Munch.
