Wendy Boswell's Web Search BlogeSnips - Share ALL Your Content With the features of sites such as Digg, Flickr, eSnips has fully arrived on the scene with a combination of all three of these services. Oh, and heck - let's add in a bit of YouTube and MySpace in the mix as well. Phew! Well, what exactly IS eSnips? From the About Us page:
"eSnips is unique in several ways:Once you sign up for eSnips (it's free and fast), you get a whopping 1GB of storage space to upload and share anything that your little heart desires. You can also download the eSnips Uploader to streamline the process; it's a toolbar so that you can instantly access your eSnips from anywhere on the Web. So I signed up, and right away in my eSnips dashboard I already had pre-planned folders all ready to go, such as Photos, Videos, Web Research, etc. The first thing I started playing around with was my profile, then I headed on over to the Web tab. And this is where I REALLY started liking eSnips. eSnips allows you to search by tag within the eSnips community; meaning that anyone who has tagged something that you are looking for, you can look at their stuff. I looked up the tag "research" and found a folder dedicated to What Is Web 2.0? I was given the option to bookmark this folder on a variety of online social bookmarking services, such as Digg, del.icio.us, Furl, etc. I could also subscribe to changes and updates in this folder via RSS, and vote whether or not I found the information useful. Last but not least, I was given a whole bunch of related/suggested information tags to keep going on my search. I definitely plan to keep playing around with eSnips. More about social bookmarking: You might have heard the term "social bookmarking" bandied about on the Web, and really, it's just a fancy phrase for sharing your stuff. Many sites are offering searchers the option to share what they like on the Web with anyone who wants to check it out, and here's just a few of these sites:
