I usually get the Topix Top Stories in the Blogosphere via my Bloglines feed, so I don't know how long exactly this little widget has been up, but Topix has added a nifty forum activity map that shows Topix forum activity by location across the continental US. Kind of a fun way to find out where that guy or gal's soapbox is physically located. (It's a pop-up; just click on the map)

Compare that to Google News, arguably Topix's biggest competitor with "only" 4,500 sources at the time of this writing.
