Digg Vs. Dot
Thursday November 17, 2005
Both Slashdot and Digg, as user-submitted content Meccas on the Web, tend to have duplicate content. It's natural to expect a bit of overlap, since roughly the same Web user population frequent both sites.
However, just how much overlap that these sites are generating is the goal of Digg Vs. Dot. From the site:
"It's pretty simple... crossposting across the two most popular sites online is stupid! digg vs dot exposes that stupidity."Alrighty, then! You can check out the Digg vs. Dot scoring system; each new post gets three points IF it's the first post on either site, only one point is given for ties (within 50 minutes), and negative points are awarded for duplicates. The only search feature is a dropdown menu that offers searches by current week, last 14 days, last 21 days, or all results.
