If you're looking for what people are saying on a specific topic, blogs are the perfect solution. Here's a few tips on how to search blogs for what you want:
- Use Google Blog Search: Google Blog Search has vastly improved since its debut in 2006, and is a great resource for searching blogs. You can search by Top Stories, Hot Queries or Recent Posts; go to Advanced Blog Search and you can narrow your searches by timeframe, language, and words included in your search query.
- Technorati searches blogs with a variety of fun measuring filters. You can search simply by entering your topic into the Technorati search field, or you can use some of their search categories: Photos, Videos, Blogger Central, etc. Getting started with Technorati can be a bit tricky, but once you're used to how Technorati works you'll find it's a very useful resource.
- Twitter, a microblogging site that boasts millions of users, is becoming a surprisingly good resource for blog search. However, you don't want to search Twitter directly - instead, you'll want to use a Twitter search site such as BingTweets, Topsy, TwitScoop, or Twittorati.
