List of U.S. nuclear sites accidentally released on the Web

Follow me on:

Want to hear the definition of "whoops!"? Via NPR, the Government Printing Office this week accidentally released online a draft of President Obama's nuclear sites declaration for the United States, obviously sensitive information. This mistake was first noticed by the American Scientists Secrecy News, picked up by WikiLeaks, and then placed on the confidential and VERY private TOR network. Basically, the cat got out of the bag with a vengeance.

Leaks like this are impossible to reel back in - once content gets out on the Web, it is OUT. And while the GPO and the US government are probably beating themselves up over this, it's a good lesson for the rest of us: be careful what you put online, because it might come back to haunt you.
