How do I avoid porn sites on the Web?

Wednesday December 10, 2008
Here's the scenario: you're searching for something innocent on the Web, and along comes something definitely NOT so innocent. Of course, this only happens when you have one of your kids sitting with you or you're at work, right? Well, there are ways to get around stumbling over sites you would rather not see in these situations, and I've written them up in this article: Five Ways to Avoid Porn on the Web.

More on Web Search Safety

  • Need to send a naughty link? Try NSFW: If you see the term "NSFW" on something, then it means that what you're about to look at is probably offensive in some way to someone, and if you're at work, you could get in hot water for looking at NSFW stuff.
  • Surf Safely with WorkFriendly: Want to browse the Web on the sly when you're actually supposed to be doing something else? Try WorkFriendly, a simple browser proxy.
  • Safety on the Web: Internet safety may seem like an oxymoron, but with responsible parenting and appropriate boundaries, it doesn't have to be. Use my Internet Safety Checklist and make your time online safe, fun, and family-friendly.
