Need to send a naughty link? Try NSFW

Tuesday April 15, 2008
First, what does NSFW mean? It's an acronym for Not Safe For Work. If you see the term "NSFW" on something, then it means that what you're about to look at is probably offensive in some way to someone, and if you're at work, you could get in hot water for looking at NSFW stuff.

But what if you want to send somebody a naughty joke or picture? Nothing wrong with that, except you don't want this person to click on the NSFW link and get caught peeking at something inappropriate, right? That's where NSFW comes in. NSFW is a super-basic service that takes your questionable link and makes it into an anonymous, short link that gives out a brief warning before anyone clicks on it so they don't land on something they shouldn't. Nice. Don't you love tools like that?

And speaking of useful Web tools....
