Tell me if this sounds familiar: cell phone bills that read like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, pushy salespeople that use snake oil salesmanship to trick you into a cell phone plan that's not right for you, fancy-schmancy cells that do everything but what you really need them to do. Cell phones, in a word, can be frustrating to get set up correctly, and since there are just so many options on the market, it's hard to know which one is best.

Enter BillShrink, a free service that recommends the very best cell phone plan for you and your unique needs. Here's how it works:

  • You tell BillShrink about your cell phone, how you use it, how many minutes you use, what you want as far as features, etc.
  • BillShrink takes into account all the plans that are available in your unique geographical area.
  • You get a page full of personalized-to-you cell phone plans that tell you how much money you could be saving. Sweet!

I gave BillShrink a quick trial run and was shocked to see how much money I could potentially be saving. This is a great service, part of the new crop of sites that are cropping up on the Web called Web 2.0; basically, Web 2.0 is more than anything else a new way for searchers to actually use the Web in a collaborative, interactive way. The term 2.0 doesn't mean that we are "out with the old and in with the new"; quite the contrary! It's just a new perspective on how we use the Web, and how the Web is used for much, MUCH more than just search.

Let's talk about phones, shall we?

  • Ten Ways You Can Find Phone Numbers on the Web: You don't have to flip through a phonebook to find phone numbers these days. Instead, you can use the Web's many resources to find phone numbers. Here are ten different ways you can find phone numbers on the Web.
  • Skype 101: Skype is quickly becoming one of the most popular (and cost-effective) ways to make phone calls to anyone in the world. Learn more about Skype and how you can make it work for you.
  • 15 Ways to Save Money on the Web: You just used BillShrink to cost-compare your cell phone bill. Save even more money online with these frugal-minded websites.

Interesting tool, however we put in our minutes per month and how much we pay but saw there was no option to add some of the other extra services we have with our phone. It said we’d save a certain amount per year but the amount we were saving was the other services..either way, it showed that the plan we currently have IS the best option which was a nice thing to see! :)

THANKS Wendy! I booked marked this one and it looks like I have been overpaying with sprint. The only reason I have stayed with them this long is the good reception no matter where I am at. I most likely will be switching shortly. fly ringtone
