The Best Shopping Sites

Monday November 26, 2007
Shopping on the Web - you really can't beat it for convenience, ease, and some top notch bargains. Here are some of my favorite shopping spots on the Web:

Shop Catalogs: Did you know that you can shop in pretty much any catalog you could ever think of online? Yep - check out Google Catalogs.

eBay Search Engine: AuctionMapper is an extremely cool search engine that focuses only on eBay listings. Sure, eBay has it's own site search; but AuctionMapper takes that site search and goes a few steps further.

Shop for Tickets: FatLens is a shopping search engine with a few unique features I haven't noticed in other shopping search engines, such as event ticket search and eBay listings included in the search results.

Community Shopping: Clipfire is a shopping search engine with a novel twist - it's also a community where you can post good deals, shopping sites that you like, products that you are particularly fond of, and more. It's like Digg but focused on shopping instead of technology.

Mobile Shopping Sites: If you've got a mobile device that is Web-enabled, you can use it for a little comparison shopping the next time you are out and about with my picks for the best mobile shopping sites.

Shopping Sites - How to Find Advanced Search, Site Maps, and Indexes: Have you ever been shopping on one site or another and for the life of you, just can't find out where they're hiding their specialized search commands page? Well, here's a list of some of the more popular shopping sites out there and their respective advanced search help pages.

Use PayPal to Purchase Items Online: PayPal is one of the most useful sites on the Web today. Basically, it's a secure e-commerce site that allows buyers and sellers to conduct business on the Web, safely, securely, and with a minimum of fuss.

Etsy: Etsy is one of my favorite Web sites; you can find lovely handmade crafts there, but one of the biggest perks is how wonderfully designed the site is. It's one of those sites that is a pleasure to browse through.
