Paint your own Jackson Pollock painting

Tuesday July 17, 2007

How do you like my masterpiece there? If you'd like to do a little Jackson Pollack painting of your own, head on over to JacksonPollock.org. Just click on the blank screen with your mouse; every time you click on the screen, the color changes. You can paint as much or as long as you like.

Speaking of art, you'll definitely want to check out Artcyclopedia, is a art search engine that covers "1800 art sites, and offer over 60,000 links to an estimated 150,000 artworks by 8,100 renowned artists."

Once you get your fill of the good stuff, you should take a look at the Museum of Bad Art, to get a sense of how good the art that you just looked at actually was.

There's a ton of museums that have their own excellent Web sites, and you can view just a few of my favorites in Find a Museum on the Web. I also enjoy the Web Gallery of Art, deviantART, the Wooster Collective, and the Louvre.

What if you're looking for images to use on your site or blog? There's plenty out there for free use - you can find them at Image Search Engines.

Oh! And I can't forget some of my favorite links on the Web - Humanities Resources on the Invisible Web. Plenty of arts, literature, and history sources for you.
