Web Search Roundup-Celebrity Graves, Flash Tutorials, del.icio.us Hacks, and More

Tuesday April 4, 2006
Man, there's a lot of good stuff on the Web. Here's just a few of the sites that I've found today:

Orangoo is an online spell checker. Just type a word and click on "check spelling". It's just a interface for Google's spell check, but the code is free so if you want to grab it and put it on your site or tweak it in some way, go right ahead.

The Cemetery Project is "a light-hearted, occasionally politically-incorrect, pictorial look at the gravesites of OVER 1,000 famous, infamous, and unusual personalities from around the world." Very interesting site with tons of photos.

Community College Web is "a searchable index to the web sites for 1287 community colleges in the United States, Canada, and elsewhere around the world." Searchable alphabetically, geographically, and by keyword.

Webshots is a CNET property (CNET also owns Search.com, a great meta search engine); "With 23 million* monthly visitors and over 218 million photos to explore, Webshots is the world's largest photo sharing site."

The New York Times Learning Network is for students, teachers and parents of kids grades 3-12. Tons of free stuff, lessons, quizzes, and more. A great resource.

del.icio.us A-to-Z by Functions is a "delicious" (bad joke) list of del.icio.us hacks, links, tools organized by actions/functions. Seriously, awesome list that is worth an instant bookmark.

GoToAndLearn.com is a site chock-full of some excellent Flash tutorials; as a big Flash fan (are we called Flashers?) this site is one of my favorites.

More Fun With Web Search: Try looking for the Top Searches on the Web, try a new search engine, or find great sites yourself using my Google Cheat Sheet.
