Tom Cruise Visits Yahoo
Yesterday, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes visited the Yahoo headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, where Tom spoke about...what? I don't know, and I'm unclear as to why Tom Cruise would be invited to speak, but let's keep the focus on Tom and his pivotal role as Maverick and mmmmm. What were we talking about?
Okay, anyway, here's a bit more information from the Unofficial Yahoo Weblog:
"Tom Cruise flew himself into San Jose to speak with Yahoo! CEO, Terry Semel, in front of a Y! Badge holders-only crowd (no friends, no family, no media)."And some more information from Justin Everett-Church, who was one of the Yahoo's in the audience:
"Once he got there he apologized for keeping us waiting, and clearly seemed to feel somewhat bad about it since he repeated his apology several times scattered throughout the talk. As you might guess, the event was well choreographed, and there were no hard questions."And Valleywag had somebody liveblogging the event:
"12:02: crazy people taking pictures / i think i'm just gonna wait for flickr 12:01: he does his own stunts 12:00: they kiss"And here's some Flickr photos of Tom Cruise at Yahoo for you as well.

I might not be dating Katie Holmes or be able to fly a MIG, but I went to the Yahoo headquarters too last summer, along with the Search Engine Strategies conference (which I hope to do again this summer). Oh, Please, can everyone get over their unjustifiable, jealousy, toward Tom Cruise(no-one is perfect). I wish I knew he was coming to the Valley. Someone needs to give the Valley some life. I, have never seen a place as the Silcion Valley-If one wants to feel alive, one has to go to San Francisco. To many intelligent, non-friendly, stuck in the mud, snobby, people are living in the Valley. Not to mention those Hi-Tech people “screwed” the valley and it’s original natives, pertaining to high rents and high house prices. “Get over yourselves, and get your heads out of the labs and out of the computers”. Life is not meant to be fully serious. Everyone, has skeltons in their closet.
I’m not sure about what you’re talking about, but I sure wish that Tom had done the world a service at Yahoo and re-enacted the volleyball scene from Top Gun. Yep, I said it!
