Nighttime for Google Maps

This via the Unofficial Google Weblog; General Electric Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program participant Peter Pesti has done a beautiful tweak with Google Maps that shows the world at night. Overlays also include Day, Dusk, Day Map, Dusk Map, and Night Map. Nicely done!

More Fun with Google: Okay, so Google is kind of search engina non grata right now (see my Google and China editorial), but they certainly have dug themselves out before - anyone remember the Google and CNET standoff? - and I am assuming that they will again (but you know what they say about the word "assume", right?).
