File Your Taxes Online for Free
Sunday February 12, 2006
We're doing our taxes today - and when I say "we", I mean Mr. Web Search will be doing our taxes with pretty much no help from me. If you have a relatively uncomplicated return to file, you'll want to check out IRS Free File. More from the site:
"Whoever said there is no such thing as a free lunch may have been right. But for millions of eligible taxpayers, with an Adjusted Gross Income of $50,000 or less, there is Free File. Free File is online tax preparation and electronic filing through a partnership agreement between the IRS and the Free File Alliance, LLC. In other words, you can e-file... free."
More Tax Help: Here at About we have our own resident tax expert, William Perez. Make sure you check his excellent site for any tax questions you might have; it's a great place to find quick, simple answers.

Hi Wendy! Tell Mr. Web Search to read my Reviews of Free Tax Software. The sad news is that about half of the IRS Free File partners have software that is
dreadfulless-than-user-friendly. I’ve visited every single Free File web site and tested the software. Only 6 of the 19 participating software programs made the grade. Oh, and free doesn’t mean free anymore. This programs will charge you for a state tax return. Yes, that bites. But going through the IRS Free File program is still a good deal, because you basically get a discount off the software’s full price. Hope this helps!
