Have you tried Topix yet? If not, you should. They've done a complete site design overhaul and their site is way more user-friendly. Plus, Topix grabs news from thousands of sources, "with over 300,000 topically based, micro-news pages presenting stories from more than 10,000 sources" at the time of this writing.
