A Round Up of Interesting Christmas Links-Christmas on the Web
Saturday December 10, 2005
We're about to decorate the Christmas tree, we're listening to Bing Crosby, and if the dog can stop trying to eat all the ornaments we'll get done quickly. Since I'm in the mood for Christmas, I thought I'd do a roundup of Christmas sites on the Web:
- NoradSanta: Track Santa with Norad, the official tracker of Jolly Old Saint Nick. "NORAD uses four high-tech systems to track Santa - radar, satellites, Santa Cams and jet fighter aircraft."
- Give a Heifer for Christmas: "Choose a meaningful gift to give a loved one and help children and families around the world receive training and animal gifts that help them become self-reliant."
- Christmas Songs: A list of 41 traditional Christmas songs with lyrics; there's also a list of the 25 most beloved Christmas carols with lyrics.
- Christmas Trees and More: From the University of Illinois; a good informational site about Christmas trees, how to pick them, how to take care of them, etc.
- Charles Dickens-A Christmas Carol: Charles Dickens' classic The Christmas Carol in its entirety online with original illustrations.
- The Twelve Days of Christmas in Discrete Mathematics: "Find the total cost of the items in the song, "The 12 Days of Christmas."
- Star Trek-The Night Before Christmas: "'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the ship, Not a circuit was buzzing, not one microchip; The phasers were hung in the armourery securely,In hope that no alien would get up that early."
- Christmas At The Time of the Civil War: Interesting background history of Christmas and the American Civil War.
