Lotsa news today, so get that extra-large mug of hot coffee ready and start a'reading.
- Google Print is Now Live (Netscape News): You can check out Google Print right now. Google has decided to "begin serving up the entire contents of books and government documents that aren't entangled in a copyright battle over how much material can be scanned and indexed from five major libraries." Which might make for a relatively small (at least in Google terms) literary index.
- Ask Jeeves Desktop Search Upgrade (Ask Jeeves Blog): New upgrades to Ask Jeeves Desktop Search including faster indexing and searching capabilities.
- Google Video Blog (Official Google Video Blog): Google now has it's very own official Google Video Blog. I like the banner.
- And, yes, even more about Google (Google Desktop Blog): Google also now has an official Google Desktop Blog.
- Yahoo Map APIs (The New Family of Yahoo! Maps Web Services): Just got an email from the head of Yahoo's development team that they've just released a whole mess of Yahoo maps APIs. What are Yahoo maps APIs? You can get more information about Yahoo maps APIs in my prior blog posting.
- Nordstrom-Now With More Ways To Take My Money (Internet Week): "Nordstrom Inc. on Wednesday said it planned to offer customers next week interactive desktop software that the company will use to deliver broadband video that combines fashion, music and pop culture with shopping."
- International Google Home Pages Now Available (Official Google Blog): Perhaps I should have named this blog posting "Google Headlines." Here's the scoop: "Today we expanded the personalized homepage to 16 new regions: Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and ahem, Canada."
- Online Physical Education - Isn't that an Oxymoron? (Educational Week): "A seemingly incongruous concept that began in Minneapolis public schools is starting to catch on in other school systems, too: taking gym class online." Next news item surely will be "Child obesity rates continue to rise at an alarming rate."
