Friday Web Search News Headlines
Friday October 28, 2005
It's raining, Sesame Street is on, and I've got a huge mug of too-strong coffee. Let's look at the news from the world of web search, technology, and general geekery:
- Bloglines Goes Mobile (Bloglines): Get an abbreviated version of your feed list by mobile phone. Very nice - I can access the Web on my cell, but I still can't figure out how to deal with call waiting. I hung up on two people (again) yesterday.
- Dennis Hastert Is A Blogger! (Cnet): The Speaker of the House has a blog.
- Web Wrestling (Lost Remote): "World Wrestling Entertainment has started pushing viewers to its site during commercial breaks in USA Network's "Monday Night Raw" for a live stream of continuing action from the mat."
- LookSmart Rolls Out Huge Vertical Search Launch: You might want to stay tuned to this channel; I'll be talking to LookSmart CEO Dave Hills in about 20 minutes about this. I profiled LookSmart's education channels back in August; they've got 13 new vertical search channels now in all, with around 160 sites offered.
