For those of you who are keeping track of the massive storm hovering off the Gulf coast about to swoop in on New Orleans, Louisiana, here are a few good Web resources:
- New Orleans guide Sharon Keating keeps up with Hurricane Katrina; her most recent post, Please Pray for Us, pretty much says it all.
- National Hurricane Center/Tropical Prediction Center: Get all your storm info here, including satellite imagery, aircraft recon, storm advisories, and more.
- Hurricane Katrina Updates: Florida for Visitors Guide Dawn Henthorn is doing a great job of keeping everyone in the path of Katrina updated.
- Google News - keyword "katrina": Frequent updates from thousands of sources.
- Flickr Katrina Clusters: Already a lot of photos of the incoming storm, I'm thinking from the already hard-hit Florida Miami-Dade area.
- NOLA: Hurricane center for the New Orleans area.
- StormDigest: Via Jeff Jarvis; up to the minute updates.
- Technorati Search for New Orleans: Tons of bloggers are talking about this; at last check more than 110,000 posts had been tagged with "New Orleans."
- Technorati Search for Hurricane: Again, lots of posts tagged with the word "hurricane."
- Hurricane Katrina: Forecasts, storm advisories, storm track plots, storm strike probabilities, and current storm tracking data.
