Google Maps and Traffic Tickets
Wednesday July 20, 2005
This via BoingBoing, proving my theory once and for all that the Internet ROCKS.
"Heartwarming story of a clever lad named Edwin who beat a traffic ticket using Google Maps. The officer who issued the ticket told the judge that Edwin was driving down a one way street when he supposedly ran a red light. Edwin told the judge this wasn't correct -- it was a two-way street -- and pulled out his laptop, found a faint but usable WiFi connection, and loaded the Google Map page of the intersection where the alleged violation occurred. "The judge said that due to lack of memory of the officer she will have to dismiss the violation."
