Artcyclopedia.com, an Art Search Engine
Wednesday July 6, 2005
Artcyclopedia.com is a art search engine that covers "1800 art sites, and offer over 60,000 links to an estimated 150,000 artworks by 8,100 renowned artists." How do they judge what and which art/artists appear in their database? Simple-they wait for museum professionals to qualify the work as legitimate art; which, in one way is unfortunate because there's so many qualified artists out there making an impact one way or another.
I love art on the Web, as you can probably tell from my last few weeks of blog posts. Here's a few resources:
- Images, Photographs, and More: Featuring gorgeous desktops, street art, and lifesize photographs.
- Find Clip Art, Buttons, Graphics, Icons, Images: a one-stop shopping resource for finding free images on the Web.
