Sites of the Day-Acronyms, Lewis and Clark, and Alien Abductions
Friday June 24, 2005
There are three Sites of the Day today because I couldn't pick between them.
- Acronyma.com is a search engine that only searches for acronyms and their meanings. As of today, they had over 471,000 acronyms and abbreviations indexed.
- National Geographic's Lewis and Clark exhibit online is quite frankly one of the most beautiful sites I've ever come across. Includes an interactive journey log, wallpapers, movies, photo galleries, commentaries by Stephan Ambrose, and more. I'm a huge Lewis and Clark buff since I live in the Pacific Northwest and this is now one of my favorite sites.
- StopAbductions.com is one of those sites that probably should have a disclaimer on it somewhere that states "Hey! We're totally kidding here. We don't really believe that aliens are trying to control our brains and the only way we can defeat them is to wear these dorky looking helmets. Seriously." But no. Here's a testimonial:
"Since trying Michael Menkin's Helmet, I have not been bothered by alien mind control. Now my thoughts are my own. I have achieved meaningful work and am contributing to society. My life is better than ever before. Thank you Michael for the work you are doing to save all humanity."
