Scary!! Doorway Pages

Monday October 25, 2004
Doorway pages are pages designed to be visible only by search engine spiders, and usually just have blobs of keywords all over them. Why are they scary? Because they are there for one purpose only: to fool the search engines into giving their sites higher rankings. Don't be tricked into thinking that making these invisible pages will make your life easier and your ranks higher; most search engine spiders know what they are and will disregard them, and your site might even get banned eventually. Instead, treat yourself to good search engine optimization by making your content, design, and meta tags searchable.
